The Carlos Jáuregui Awards 2025 will be presented on October 31st at the Manzana de las Luces. This year, for the first time, a posthumous award will be given in memory of Ramona 'Cachita' Arévalo. The ceremony will take place during Pride Week and will honor outstanding individuals and organizations from the LGBT community. Among the nominees are director Martín Vatenberg, judge Raúl Zaffaroni, actor Santiago Magariños, and others. The awards were created in honor of one of the country's main historical leaders of the LGBT community and were revived by the Fundación Igualdad in 2021. 'This year will be the first time we will give an award to someone who has passed away, it will be a posthumous award in memory of Ramona 'Cachita' Arévalo. We will present it in the presence of Norma Castillo, as they were the first same-sex marriage in South America,' explained Pedro Paradiso Sottile, director of the foundation.
